Congratulations to Cheri Woodrow and Kuz that's Why
AQHA’s Ontario Justin Rookie winner in the Amateur division was awarded to Cheri Woodrow, EOQHA member, and her gelding Kuz That's Why (Cutter). Cheri earned a total of 20 AQHA points to capture the amateur division for our province.
Cheri has been a competitor for many years within other breed associations, but made her switch to Quarter Horses a few years ago much to the delight of all who have gotten to know the outgoing and always smiling amateur competitor. Cheri has been very dedicated to the Amateurs in Ontario, and seeing her win this award is an accomplishment that we all celebrate with her.
Congratulations Cheri and Cutter on an outstanding year both in and out of the show ring.

( June 6 ,2011) we are very saddened to let you know that EOQHA has lost a long-time supporter and friend. Carol Malcolm suffered a heart attack while travelling home from work today. She was taken to the Civic Hospital but despite the efforts of bystanders, she was unable to be resuscitated.Her family and many friends are in a total state of shock. Many of you know her husband Tom, and sister Robyn, who were a major cheering section for Carol's horse endeavors. Carol was the definition of good sport who had fun with her horses and enjoyed the company of fellow riders. She worked hard to produce a competitive show horse but never lost sight of the reasons she was in the sport.....love of all things horse related. Please keep her family in your thoughts as they cope with this shock. |

The Eastern Ontario Quarter Horse Association, takes it's motto "Where Fun Happens!" very seriously. Our membership is made up of a number of talented individuals and amazing families, who all pitch into facilitate not only the horse shows, but also a number of fun and social events. Our shows are more than just showing horses; events range from fun competitions such as the shankless showmanship class to the exhibitors corn roast and the overall good-time party of the annual banquet, as well as the funds raising events put on by our Association's Youth members.
Like many competitive sports, ours attracts people from all demographics, however it is the love of this great breed of horse and the dedication that these animals inspire that brings together the many members of The Eastern Ontario Quarter Horse Association.
The Eastern Ontario Quarter Horse Association and it’s members truly believe, that there is no better way to spend a weekend, than with good friends, and great horses!!!
