It would be impossible for EOQHA to pull off successful horses
shows, host social events, and make sure our guests are entertained,
without a little or I should say a lot of help from our friends.
In recognition for this support from non EOQHA board members each
year the association awards a special gift to an individual or
group of people who have made a significant contribution of their
time and support to these activities.
Justin
Woodley, is no stranger to EOQHA shows, a former EOQHA youth,
and member of our Congress Team, Justin has over the years helped
out with many events and fundraisers to support the EOQHA youth
programs. It wasn’t however until 2005 that EOQHA caught
sight of just how much of an entertainer and go getter that Justin
has grown up to be.
The
EOQHA’s Summer Sizzler Friday Nite Stage Show, debuted in
2004 with the Cowboy Drag Queen Contest, and hot on its heels
was the success of 2005’s Singing In The Shower Idol. If
it hadn’t been for Justin that Idol stage show would have
never got on its feet. Helping with props, sound, and acting as
the host of the show, we discovered many new facets to this cowboy
from the North; He could sing! He was funny! And he was right
at home on that stage. Thus it was no shock that last year he
found himself right back up there as host of the Singing with
the Stars Lip Sink stage show, were we found out once again the
lengths Justin would go to entertain us. Arriving on a Harley
Davidson HOG, sporting the likeness of Gene Simmons of KISS fame,
Justin rocked the house, and showed off some pretty cool Rock
Star mic moves!
Justin
has impressed many of us over the years with his talents, in the
saddle and on the stage, and by always showing up with a smile
and willing attitude. These attributes have not gone unnoticed
through out the rest of the Ontario Quarter Horse industry either.
Justin received an invitation to co-host the 2006 OQHA Awards
Banquet, but was unable to attend due to University obligations.
It
is with pride that our EOQHA family can say that they helped raise
our 2006 EOQHA Good Will Award recipient, he’s turned out
quite well, and no doubt you’ll see him this year performing
or helping out in some capacity at the Sizzler. Thank you Justin
for your humour, sportsmanship, and support. EOQHA wishes you
all the best as you graduate from university and onto that next
phase in your life.
